Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. We are named after Christ, our Good Shepherd, who gave "his life for the sheep." John 10:11 Our congregation was founded in February of 1959 by Pastor Wallace H. McLaughlin, Mr. Herbert Gade, Mr. Adam Hartfiel, Mr. Gene McDonald, and several others in New Hope, Minnesota. Believing the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and likewise believing that the congregation is a divine institution and therefore autonomous, these founders also helped form the Lutheran Churches of the Reformation (LCR). Good Shepherd has maintained fellowship with the LCR since its inception in 1964. We believe no synod, conference, federation, or other structure ought to rule above the church, for there is no higher power than God and His Word. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church was originally located in Golden Valley but moved to Corcoran in 1997. We preach Christ crucified, and the full truth of His Word. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." John 14:6 May our gracious and Good Shepherd help us to bring God's Word to the lost sheep of this world. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." Mark 16:16 If you desire to find a Lutheran church that still faithfully teaches the Bible, please consider us. "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord." Psalm 122:1
We are located in the country but just minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city. From I-494, exit at Bass Lake Road (County Road 10) and go west for several miles until you come to a “T” intersection. At the “T”, continue to follow CR 10 to the left for 0.8 miles, to Maple Hill Rd. Turn right, we're a quarter mile down the road on the left, you can't miss us.
We are proud to be members of the LCR
